Fabian & Vanessa! (Costa Rica)

I feel so privileged to have been able to spend time in Costa Rica with my close friends Fabian and Vanessa. Having been there just two weeks prior to the wedding on a missions trip with both Fabian and Vanessa, I was able to see once again how they love others and serve the Lord as a couple and as a team. Fabian loves Vanessa and leads her well. Just like the example Jesus Christ gave us. Fabian is gentle, caring and sacrificial. Vanessa loves Fabian and you can see it in her eyes when she looks at him. She serves him, respects him, and follows his lead. She is an excellent example of a Proverbs 31 wife. It is always a joy to be around these two, and their wedding was no exception.

Costa Rica is Vanessa’s home and where she grew up. Her family serves as full time missionaries and loves the community they are in. The wedding was on their beautiful property and made an amazing venue. You could see the mountains just over the hill, and we even received a brief mid-afternoon shower, right on schedule. It came down hard, but only lasted a minute or two. Just after the shower, a spectacular rainbow appeared right over the altar and stayed for the rest of the ceremony. I have been to a lot of weddings, but I have never seen anything like it. It was as if God was showing his favor of this blessed union.

The reception followed with tons of laughter, dancing, and love. I left that night tired, but with a full heart. I am overjoyed that I was able to be there, and be a part of their journey together.

Eli and Amanda

Eli and Amanda are such a wonderful couple who make those around them comfortable in any situation. Eli’s calm demeanor and Amanda’s smiling laughter did not change even on a day that can be stressful for many. I really enjoyed getting to know both of them better, as well as spending the day capturing their beautiful wedding. I was so honored to be a part of it, and to watch their journey unfold. Thank you both so much, not only for letting me spend the day with you, but for your kindness along the way. Congratulations!

Eric and Ana

It was an honor to be able to spend the day with Eric and Ana, and see them not only join their lives together, but also two cultures. There was a beautiful mixture of languages, families and traditions that provided so much joy to everyone.

Their love for one another is quiet, patient and unassuming. Each one is a unique example of Christ and his church, and this is evident in their relationship with one another. It has been so exciting seeing them find one another and watching their relationship grow and to see them serve side by side.

I am so glad that I can call them friends, and look forward to living life with them as they continue this journey together, on a joined race towards their Savior.

Jared!

I have known Jared for a number of years, and was excited when I was was able to shoot his senior session. We had a great time at the Mines of Spain, downtown Dubuque, and the soccer complex. We did get bitten by a few mosquitos, but it was worth it! Jared is a senior at Wahlert High School, and loves soccer. He is considering staying in Dubuque for college, so hopefully I can see him play!

Amanda + Eli

It was an absolute pleasure to spend the afternoon with Amanda and Eli capturing their engagement session. Their natural affections for one another has been obvious the few times we have spent together. This time, we decided to braved the cold and hike around the Mines of Spain admiring the sights and sounds of Iowa in late fall. They truly are a beautiful couple and I am excited to be able to capture their story as it continues to unfold.

Beth + Juan

My wife Ana and I couldn't be happier that Beth and Juan are engaged! We have known Beth for a number of years and she has always radiated God's love to others. She truly is a great example of a godly woman. Ana has always said that whoever catches Beth will have to be quite a guy, and Juan is! We have known Juan for a shorter time but you can see by the way that he looks at her and the way he responds to her that he truly loves her. Juan also shows God's love and care to those around him, and we love that the Lord has paired these two together.

Ana and I had a great time shooting these photos for them. It was a joy to spend the evening with them and captured some truly great images. We look forward to the wedding as well, and know it will be a God centered one and bring Him much glory!
